Cleaner Bromley Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Cleaner Bromley in relation to our financial year and explains the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. Cleaner Bromley is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard workers from exploitation.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Cleaner Bromley has a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking, including forced labour, bonded labour, servitude, child labour and exploitation through coercion or deception. We do not tolerate such practices in our own operations or in any part of our supply chain.
This commitment is embedded in our internal policies, codes of conduct and contractual expectations. All employees, workers, contractors and suppliers are expected to uphold this position and to act promptly if they become aware of any risk, suspicion or incident of modern slavery connected to our business.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Cleaner Bromley provides cleaning and related services across a range of sites. Our supply chain includes providers of cleaning materials, equipment, workwear, facilities services and labour. We recognise that some sectors and geographies can present higher risks of labour exploitation, and we continually assess these risks in the context of our own activities.
We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners who share our values and demonstrate compliance with applicable labour, employment and human rights laws.
Supplier Standards and Audits
All key suppliers are required to confirm that they do not use forced, compulsory or trafficked labour and that they comply with relevant employment legislation. We communicate our zero-tolerance stance and require suppliers to cascade similar standards through their own subcontractors and sources of labour.
We apply a risk-based approach to supplier due diligence. Where we identify a higher risk of modern slavery, we may carry out more detailed checks, including requests for evidence of right to work processes, recruitment fee policies, wage practices, working hours records and grievance mechanisms. We reserve the right to conduct supplier audits, both desk-based and on-site, to verify compliance.
If a supplier fails to meet our standards or does not cooperate with our due diligence or audits, we will seek corrective actions within clear timeframes. Where serious issues are identified, or where corrective actions are not implemented, we may suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Cleaner Bromley encourages all staff, suppliers, contractors and other stakeholders to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery at the earliest possible stage. Concerns can be reported through internal management channels or via established whistleblowing procedures.
Reports can be made confidentially, and individuals who raise concerns in good faith will not suffer any form of detrimental treatment. We investigate all reports promptly and, where appropriate, take remedial and disciplinary action. Where there is evidence of criminal activity, we will cooperate fully with law enforcement and other competent authorities.
Training and Awareness
Relevant employees, including managers and those involved in procurement, receive training to help them identify signs of modern slavery and understand the appropriate steps to take if concerns arise. We promote awareness of modern slavery risks and our policy across the organisation so that all colleagues understand their responsibilities.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Cleaner Bromley recognises that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to continuously improving our processes, including our risk assessments, due diligence, training and reporting mechanisms. Lessons learned from audits, investigations and industry developments are used to strengthen our controls.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed annually by our senior management team to ensure it remains accurate, effective and aligned with legal requirements and best practice. Any significant changes in our operations or supply chain will be reflected in updated versions of this Statement.
This Statement has been approved on behalf of Cleaner Bromley and will be published as our formal commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business.
